Places to visit

History, Art, and Religion

Those who visit Alta Badia should not miss out on the Ladin Museum Ladin Ciastel de Tor in San Martino in Badia where you can admire archaeological findings and important historic documents which perfectly describe the Ladin culture. In San Cassiano you can visit the Museum Ladin Ursus Ladinicus with the remains of the famous "Ursus Ladinicus", the skeleton of a bear found in the Conturines caves.

If you would like to get to know Alta Badia from a religious point of view you should visit the Santa Croce pilgrimage, the Santa Barbara Chapel, the baroque church of S. Leonardo in Badia, and of course the birth place of Saint Joseph Freinademetz, a missionary who lived in China and was canonized in 2003.
