Tanna was the queen of the Croderes, the first stone people who lived on the
earth and above the underground waters. They loved tickling the wind with their ice hair.
And they kicked the rivers out of their beds. Once day, Queen Tanna stretched her head
out into the sunshine and her icy hair began to melt, running and carving great valleys
into the earth. And look! Grass and wonderful flowers began to grow, covering Tanna's
body and swathing her in beautiful perfume. Everything on Tanna grew and smelled lovely
and her heart began to beat and the wind caught in treetops and she began to breathe.
She was wonderfully beautiful, glowing and full of colour. And then she had a good
stretch and embraced her stone brothers and sisters. |
